Synopsis:
Those who've had the pleasure of meeting Pushwagner know that hanging out with him is an unpredictable affair. We've spent more than three years with him. It's been frustrating, hilarious and rewarding. Based on the painter's own imagery and the theme control, we've made a different portrait of an artist who refuses to be controlled. Terje Brofos, aka Hariton Pushwagner, is Norway's most prominent representative of pop art. He enjoys international success: critics praise him, his name has made an impression at the biennales of Berlin and Sydney, and international museums are flocking to his Oslo studio. But behind the success we find the story about a man who ended up homeless, with years of substance abuse before he got his commercial breakthrough. Even G. Benestad and August B. Hanssen give us an engaging and entertaining, thought-provoking and, not least, honest portrait of Norway's most distinct contemporary artist. At the same time, the film reflects on what is real in the life of Pushwagner the artist and the human being. As he himself puts it: 'It's not true, but it's a good story'.

A personal portrait of a small man with a great personality. The directors followed the artist Pushwagner for three years. He is an artist who is in danger of losing everything.
