Synopsis:

Passion will overcome. War Flowers tells the story of a young mother whose husband has left her and their daughter to fight for the South in the Civil War. Alone Sarabeth and her young child face the wrath of war and poverty. Unbeknown to Sarabeth her husband has been killed outside her home. Her daughter knows but keeps this to herself. After the gun battle outside their home (which killed her husband) they must decide the fate of a Yankee soldier who has been critically injured in the gun fight. He remains at their home and recovers from his injuries and falls in love with Sarabeth. As the war ends Sarabeth finds out her husband has died and she decides to start a new life with the Yankee soldier.

Sarabeth (Christina Ricci) is a young mother whose husband has left her and her daughter to fight for the South in the Civil War. It follows the havoc and hardships the war creates for Sarabeth and her daughter, and explores their hopes, faith and belief that the man they love will return. All the while, they must decide the fate of a Yankee soldier (Jason Gedrick) who enters their life.
