Synopsis:
The film is set in the 1970s and amidst the counterculture chic of the '70s. Willie, a high school English teacher who plays jazz piano (Michael Ontkean), and Phil, a fashion photographer (Ray Sharkey), meet coming out of the Bleecker Street Cinema where Jules et Jim has just been shown and become friends. They both fall in love with Jeannette, a girl from Kentucky, (Margot Kidder).

Remake of Jules et Jim following the experiences over a decade of two friends who fall in love with the same woman, enjoyably satirising the 70's through the search by the three protagonists for their identities and making sharp attacks on cultural signposts of the decade along the way. The film also studies relationships, what its director calls 'wanting something permanent yet wanting to be free'.

Three friends - two men and a woman - whose lives connect and disconnect over a ten-year period.
