Synopsis:
The Lodger (1927)
A serial killer known as 'The Avenger' is on the loose in London, murdering blonde women.

The Ring (1927)
Jack Saunders and Bob Corby are two boxers in love with Nellie. Jack and Nellie are married but their marriage is flat so she starts to look to Bob for comfort.

Easy Virtue (1928)
Larita Filton is named as correspondent in a scandalous divorce case. She escapes to France to rebuild her life where she meets John Whittaker.

The Farmer's Wife (1928)
Farmer Sweetland is a lonely old widower. He is determined to marry again and he enlists the help of his housekeeper Minta to pick a wife from the local single women.

The Manxman (1929)
Despite their differing backgrounds, fisherman Pete and lawyer Philip have been life long friends on the Isle of Man.

Blackmail (1929)
Alice White, detective Frank Webber's girlfriend, is invited by an artist to visit his studio. The man tries to rape Alice and she kills him with a knife to defend herself.

Juno and the Paycock (1930)
When an Irish family inherits money, they forget their roots.

Murder! (1930)
The police find the actress, Diana Baring, near the body of her friend. All the circumstantial proofs seems to point to her and, at the end of the trial, she is condemned.

The Lodger (1927)
A serial killer known as 'the avenger' is murdering blonde women in London. A new lodger, Jonathan Drew, arrives at Mr. and Mrs. Bounting's in Bloomsbury and rents a room. The man has some strange habits, he goes out during foggy nights and keeps a picture of a blonde girl in his bedroom. The Bounting's daughter, Daisy, is a blonde model and she is engaged to Joe, a detective. When Joe finds out that Bounting suspects Jonathan, he is jealous of the lodger flirting with Daisy and arrests the man accusing him of being the avenger.

The Ring (1927)
One round Jack is a boxer who fights in bazaars. He is engaged to Nelly. Without revealing his true identity, the Australian champion Bob Corby, who is falling in love with Nelly, challenges Jack. 'One round' loses and Bob, who wants to be close to Nelly, hires Jack as his sparring partner. A short time passes until Bob and Nelly run away together. Jack is now in training for his revenge. He challenges Bob in the Albert Hall.

Easy Virtue (1928)
Laurita Finton is accused by her husband of being in love with an artist. There is a trial, but the artist, who has been rejected by the girl, kills himself. Laurita's world is destroyed so she decides to leave, changing her identity and starting a new life. She falls in love with a rich young man, John Whittaker, but his family doesn't like Laurita, a girl with an 'easy virtue'. John's mother finds out about the shadows in Laurita's past and tells everything to her son.

The Farmer's Wife (1928)
Farmer Sweetland is an old and lonely widower who manages to marry again. He likes three ladies, but they all reject him, instigated by Aramintha, the farmer's maid who is secretly in love with her master. The farmer seems to start thinking love is no more his business, but he realizes that the right woman has always lived by his side. She is Aramintha herself.

The Manxman (1929)
Poor fisherman Pete falls in love with Kate, the daughter of a landlord on Man island. Pete decides to leave on his ship to earn some money and then to marry the girl. Before leaving, Pete asks his friend Philip to take care of Kate, but the young man is in love with her too. There comes the tragic news: Pete's ship is wrecked. Philip and Kate have to hide no more and they plan to marry; however, Pete is not dead.

Blackmail (1929)
Alice White is the daughter of a shopkeeper in 1920's London. Her boyfriend, Frank Webber is a Scotland Yard detective who seems more interested in police work than in her. Frank takes Alice out one night, but she has secretly arranged to meet another man. Later that night Alice agrees to go back to his flat to see his studio. The man has other ideas and as he tries to rape Alice, she defends herself and kills him with a bread knife. When the body is discovered, Frank is assigned to the case, he quickly determines that Alice is the killer, but so has someone else and blackmail is threatened.
Juno and the Paycock (1930)
During the Irish revolution, a family earns a big inheritance. They start leading a rich life forgetting what the most important values of are. At the end, they discover they will not receive that inheritance; the family is destroyed and penniless. They must sell their home and start living like vagabonds.

Murder! (1930)
An actress in a traveling theatre group is murdered and Diana Baring, another member of the group is found suffering from amnesia standing by the body. Diana is tried and convicted of the murder, but Sir John Menier a famous actor on the jury is convinced of her innocence. Sir John sets out to find the real murderer before Diana's death sentence is carried out.
