Synopsis:
Two strangers share their emotional traumas over the course of a few stormy days in this drama from Argentinean filmmaker Paula Hernandez. Roberto (Ernesto Alterio) was born in Buenos Aires, but has been away for close to 30 years when he finds himself back home to visit the father he feels be barely knows after the man falls into a coma. Waiting for his hotel room to be ready, Roberto is walking in the rain that has been falling on the city for three days straight when a woman named Alma (Valeria Bertuccelli) opens the door to her car and he impulsively hops in. Alma feels almost as lost in the city as Roberto; her nine-year relationship with her boyfriend ended abruptly a few days before, and having been tossed out of his apartment, she's been living out of her car and looking for a new place to call home. Fate brings these two lost souls together, but where will it lead them? Lluvia (aka Rain) received its North American premiere at the 2008 Montreal World Film Festival.

Buenos Aires. It rains. Alma is in her car, stuck in Buenos Aires' traffic. She has recently broken-up with her boyfriend, and she has been living in her little car since then. Suddenly, Roberto gets into the car. He's wet and hurt, he's tired of the rain, of broken dreams. He has come back after thirty years abroad. In this new city he has nothing and nobody, just a father in coma, whom he has no relationship. He promises to leave the car as soon as the rain ceases. Alma, not knowing exactly why lets him in. That night will be different. And the next few days too. There's something new to find in the depth of their hearts.

Drama set in Buenos Aires. Caught in a chaotic traffic jam on a rainy day the door of Alma's car is opened by a soaking wet Roberto, who begs for shelter and assistance.
