Synopsis:
Arena (2009)
Arena relates the story of a boy, Mauro, who is serving a sentence under house arrest and faces the dilemma of breaking the law to settle scores with underprivileged kids of the neighborhood.

Black Hill / Cerro Negro (2012)
Subdued, moving fiction about a young immigrant couple from Brazil in Lisbon. She visits him in prison. A young woman visits her husband in prison. Both are Brazilian immigrants in Lisbon. Her son is left behind. Powerfully acted, sober and gripping fiction in grey-blue tints by João Salaviza.

Rafa (2012)
Rafa is thirteen years old. He lives in a small apartment in the south suburb of Lisbon with his mother, his sister and his nephew. On a summer night, Rafa learns that his mother was arrested by the police. On the motorcycle of a friend, he crosses the bridge of April 25th and goes to the police station of the city center to see her and wait for her liberation. The night falls. Rafa ha decided not to return home without his mother.

Arena (2009)
Mauro is under house arrest. Tattooing helps him while away the time. Three local kids taunt him through his window. Outside, the midday sun beats down.

Black Hill / Cerro Negro (2012)
Cerro Negro takes us into the lives of a small immigrant Brazilian family in Lisbon, separated by the imprisonment of the father. While the young child seems oblivious to the situation, both the father and the mother contain their frustration in a zombie like state.

Rafa (2012)
Rafa is thirteen and lives with his mother, sister and his little nephew in a tiny flat in one of the suburbs just south of Lisbon on the other side of the big bridge. One morning, his mother isn't there. She didn't return after spending another night with that man. Worried, Rafa sets off to find her. He goes to the police station and tries to find out something. Although he responds to their questions calmly he doesn't get any answers himself. Rafa tries to stand his own in this authoritarian environment and cope with the absurdities of bureaucracy, but to no avail. He takes off to see what the rest of the day will bring. He discovers many an enticement along the way but has to overcome its appeal. He is prepared to do everything and anything - except go home without his mother.

Arena (2009)
While under house arrest, Mauro is taunted by three local boys through his window in Arena.

Black Hill / Cerro Negro (2012)
Anajara and Allison are a couple of Brazilian immigrants in Lisbon. Two people alone trying to look out for one another as they struggle to cope with their enforced separation.

Rafa (2012)
Rafa a 13 years old kid concerned with his mother, held in a police station for driving without a license.The director shows a day in the life of a teenager who lives on a problematic area and discovers that her mother was arrested because of an automobile accident.
