Synopsis:
The holidays reveal the ways of the heart as a husband and wife discover the true meaning of love and sacrifice in this rewarding adaptation of O. Henry's beloved classic. The quaint little town of Dillingham, New England is the new home for newlyweds Jim and Della Young. So in love, they see far beyond their modest first house with its worn furniture, peeling paint, garage sale dishes, and one very used beater car. After all, they have each other and their dreams. For Jim, it's restoring his late father's vintage '55 Chevy Bel Air convertible-close to perfection save for missing a steering wheel. For Della, a budding photographer, it's to someday afford professional lenses for her favorite Nikon. With Christmas around the corner, all Jim and Della really want is to make each other's dream come true. There's a way to do it. It begins with a visit to a neighborhood pawn shop. Then, with the help of her best friend, Renee, cash-strapped Della takes on an extra job at a hotel without Jim's knowing. Jim, a bartender in O. Henry's Pub, secretly finds extra work, too, through his best friend, Ian. All it'll take is just a couple of noble white lies from each of them, and enduring a few weeks of exhausting moonlighting, to make Christmas special. And in the meantime, they play matchmaker for Renee and Ian. It'll be perfect. But a series of misunderstandings soon undermine their respective schemes, and fate itself will have a hand in their design for the best Christmas ever. One of the greatest Christmas stories ever written is now a new movie to be celebrated for all time.

Financially limited newlyweds (Marla Sokoloff, Mark Webber) plan to buy each other expensive gifts for Christmas, but the sacrifices they make to obtain the items end up putting a strain on their marriage.
