Synopsis:

A new case for the cult detectives! Not by coincidence, a mysterious videotape falls into the hands of Jupiter Jones (CHANCELLOR MILLER), Pete Crenshaw (NICK PRICE) and Bob Andrews (CAMERON MONAGHAN) during Jupiter's birthday party in Rocky Beach. On it is a recording of Jupiter's long dead parents. In their message they want to communicate to their son the key to an especially tricky riddle.The Three Investigators do not hesitate for a second: immediately, they make their way to the abandoned property of the mad inventor Terrill, located in a lonesome wood in Northern California. The place is rumored to be haunted! Although Jupiter, Pete and Bob are a shrewd team, they must gather all of their courage and resolve to enter the ghostly ruins. It quickly becomes clear that there is something very odd going on and that the building appears to be cursed.But that's not enough: the persistent Sheriff Hanson (JONATHAN PIENAAR) has it in for the boys. And his daughter Caroline (ANNETTE KEMP) - who has supernatural abilities - casts her eye at Bob and sees in him a soul-mate from the dim and distant past. This family-oriented German language mystery continues the exploits of The Three Investigators, Justas Jonas (Chancellor Miller), Peter Shaw (Nick Price) and Bob Andrews (Cameron Monaghan), a clique of young men glimpsed previously in 2008's Three Investigators and the Secret of Skeleton Island. This time around, Justas's parents have tragically died, but his mother and father left behind a trail of clues. The boys duly follow the path, which leads them to California and the heart of the formidable Terror Castle - a spooky old structure that conceals a secret beyond their wildest imaginations.

Clowns are usually the last people you'd suspect of committing crimes, so Jupiter, Pete and Bob - The Three Investigators - hardly pay attention when a clown sneaks into Jupiter's birthday party and tries to make off with something. Though they don't catch the clown, they retrieve his booty: it's a tape of Jupiter's parents, who died several years earlier. The only thing that's clear in the garbled tape is that Jupiter's parents were also investigators, and on the trail of something big... Jupiter vows to solve the mystery his parents were working on.
