Synopsis:
As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, 'If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace - but now it is hidden from your eyes.' (Luke 19, 41-42) Jews, Christians and Muslims live in the most crowded conditions on a scant square kilometer in the Old City of Jerusalem. How do they live, and how do their daily interpersonal relationships function? To the outside observer, everything seems peaceful. But how is it really?

Along with my cameraman, I visited families, including Palestinian ones, and clergymen from all three world religions, to find out more about the situation there. In addition, we looked in on a peace village between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv called Neve Shalom Wahat al Salam, which, with its work, is profoundly involved in the peace process. The film provides a very personal insight into the lives of some of the people in Jerusalem, their fears, worries and hopes. It points up to what degree the religious and political issues are interrelated, and what point in the peace process the people have reached. Beyond this, famous representatives of the 'Neve Shalom Wahat al Salam' peace village tell us about their work toward peace and how highly dissimilar groups of people can succeed at living together in peace. In addition, the film illuminates the fundamental beliefs of the three world religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Till I Dry Your Tears Jews, Christians and Muslims live in the most crowded conditions on a scant square kilometer in the Old City of Jerusalem. How do they live, and how do their daily interpersonal relationships function? To the outside observer, everything seems peaceful.
