Synopsis:
1950s British comedy following two men who compete for the affections of the same woman in a Switzerland skiing resort. While holidaying in the Swiss Alps, Clive (Nigel Patrick) and Humpy (David Tomlinson) both fall for Mary (Jill Day). They each try different ways to win her over without much success and when they contract chicken pox they find themselves in quarantine under the watchful eye of Humpy's old nanny Miss Cartwright (Kathleen Harrison). Their situation becomes even more complicated with the arrival of Greek Gaston (Leo McKern) who also sets his sights on Mary.

Filmed on location in Switzerland the story concerns two young bachelors taking separate skiing holidays at the same resort. Clive Morton (Nigel Patrick) and "Humpy" Miller (David Tomlinson) have nothing whatsoever in common-except for one thing, both men fall for the hotel proprietor's daughter Mary (Jill Day). As the story progresses Clive, a debonair soldier and sportsman gets quickly into his stride as poor "Humpy" a clumsy, incongruous fellow looks on dumbly. However, "Humpy" has a secret weapon, Miss Cartwright (Kathleen Harrison) his former nanny who arrives just as the pair are quarantined in the hotel attic after contracting measles. Quickly realising Humpy's predicament she skillfully arranges for the removal of the opposition, leaving the way clear for "Humpy".

In a Swiss Alpine resort, shortly after the War, an army officer and upper-class Humpy Miller both set their sights on Mary, the landlord's daughter. When the two come down with chicken pox they are put in the charge of fellow guest Miss Cartwright, who turns out to be Humpy's old nanny. The two Englishmen unite not only against her tyranny but against a dense Greek who is also after Mary.
