Synopsis:
Money can give life, take life and change life. It's Friday night and it's the Euro millions lottery draw. A syndicate of five lowly paid hospital workers win a life changing £72 million to share between them. Written by BAFTA award-winning writer Kay Mellor, OBE (Band of Gold, Fat Friends, Playing The Field and A Passionate Woman) The Syndicate returns for a brand new series of the critically acclaimed BBC One drama. Series 2 follows the lives of nurses, Tom and Mandy, auxiliaries, Rose and Becky and porter, Alan--all working at St Anthony's in Bradford. With a whopping win of £72 million, we follow each character's journey, swapping bedpans and bandages for convertibles and champagne. As they go from earning less than £14,000 a year to having a staggering 14 million each in their banks. But not everybody's celebrating. Adjusting to their newly acquired wealth brings drama, comedy and pathos and unearths a few guilty secrets and some unwanted surprises. Starring: Mark Addy (Great Expectations, Game Of Thrones); Siobhan Finneran (Downton Abbey, Benidorm); Natalie Gavin (Prisoners' Wives, Shameless); Jimi Mistry (Eastenders, East Is East) and Alison Steadman (Gavin And Stacey, Pride And Prejudice)
