Synopsis:

The course of history could have been so different if the first plot to kill Adolf Hitler, in 1939, had been successful. But Hitler proved a hard man to kill. Drawing on a wealth of information culled from government files, private sources, letters, diaries and more this programme sheds new light on the famous scheme to eliminate Hitler. We review the many attempts on his life, and analyze what went wrong.

Documentary on Hitler's escapes from assassination and eventually his suicide. The show starts off with a history lesson on how the political parties were forming in the late 1930s and what certain factors and events led to the rise of the fascist dictatorship where all opposers were eliminated. It then goes on to document the assassination attempts on Hitler's life.

Examines the failed plots to assassinate the Nazi leader, and explores what might have happened had they succeeded.
