Synopsis:

From the creator of Deadliest Catch Black Gold season 4 is fuelling up and revenge is the name of the game. Old friends become new enemies and the only thing tougher than working on Rig 28 is fighting off the competition. This season, Cheston guns for a promotion but finds out he may just be fighting for his job. Brandon finds himself in trouble with the law and Big Rig 28 may lose its best driller. Further tensions arise between Cheston and the Wheeler twins and as the pressure mounts, their disagreements get physical. A rival driller pays a visit to Oscar and causes friction with the Rig 28 crew.

There's an oil boom in West Texas and that means big risk, big reward and big characters drilling for crude. We'll follow along as two oilmen risk their fortunes. It cost millions to drill two miles into the Earth. Bu this exhausting, dangerous work demands the young roughnecks who work on three of their rigs risk something more valuable - their lives. Not only do they have to contend with the elements on the rig like scorching heat and sudden lightning storms, there's heavy iron all around and the constant risk of poison gas coming from the well. But that's the price they pay to search for Black Gold.

This year, the price of oil is trading at new highs. For the roughnecks of Big Dog the stakes this year are huge, since oil is a feast or famine business it's a sprint to get as much of the oil out of the ground as possible and sell at the highest price. Big Dog drilling has increased the number of operational rigs from four to twenty to meet the new demand. That means the workforce is stretched paper thin, and fewer skilled hands are available. Of course less experience means more danger...
