Synopsis:
Vicente Ferrer narrates the life of the man who chose action as the way to fight poverty, transforming the barren land of India's dry and dusty Anantapur into a fertile and productive landscape. The film focusses on the last thirty years of the Catalonian Jesuit to narrate his battle against enemies who initially seemed to be unbeatable. The story starts with his return to India in 1969, after forced exile to Spain, where Ferrer had been expelled for causing rage in the governing sectors, who saw him as a serious threat to their interests. At the age of 50, accompanied by a tiny group of faithful collaborators (among whom was Anne Perry, the woman who became his wife and main partner of his unsteady business), the charming priest returned in silence, almost on tip-toe, to a country he considered his home. Convinced that "Poverty and suffering are not understood, they are fought", when he was already known worldwide as the "Saint of Manmad", Vicente Ferrer started his work again from zero, in the knowledge that there is only one way to do things: by looking ahead. Vicente Ferrer narrates this voyage through the eyes of the man, but also, and very specially, through those of his wife, Anne Perry, his companion, partner and heir of the Foundation named after her husband.

Imanol Arias plays Vicente Ferrer, a man who chose action as the way to fight poverty, transforming the barren land of India's dry and dusty Anantapur into a fertile and productive landscape.
