Synopsis:
Following the enormous impact of Jamie's Fowl Dinners, Jamie Oliver is now focusing on the pig industry. In a headline-grabbing 90 minute special, Jamie shows a live audience of farmers, consumers and decision-makers the entire pig industry process from birth to plate and in the process explains how to save money as well as saving Britain's pig farmers. Jamie's aim is to support British farmers and help consumers to make better informed choices. With the help of people in the industry Jamie reveals the complete inside view of the pork industry both in the UK and in Europe where welfare standards are often much lower. Jamie highlights the challenges that the British Pork industry faces and investigates how UK farmers' expensive higher welfare standards are putting them at risk of going out of business by leaving them open to competition from some mass producers from the EU. He also highlights how the labelling of bacon, ham and pork products can be misleading in determining the country of origin.
Jamie is joined by Compassion In World Farming patron Joanna Lumley, a tireless campaigner for animal welfare and Great British organisations are named and shamed for their lack of loyalty to the British pig farmer. One thing is for sure, you'll never look at your banger in quite the same way again.

What came first? The chicken and the egg... Now Jamie Oliver turns his attention to the UK pig industry to help consumers make better-informed choices about the food they buy and eat.
