Synopsis:
Salomé (2013)
Salomé is Oscar Wilde's most controversial work, banned in London in the late 19th Century. This scintillating tale of lust, greed and revenge follows the legend of King Herod and his lust for his young stepdaughter, Salomé, and her sexual baiting of John the Baptist. Wilde's adaptation has spawned multiple stage productions including an opera by Richard Strauss.
Wilde Salomé (2011)
Wilde Salome is, as Al Pacino describes it, a kind of "collage of a film", hopefully representing the struggles and highs and lows of presenting a challenging and unique piece of writing by one of the literary geniuses of the 20th century, Oscar Wilde. Pacino explores what it was like to put the play on live in Los Angeles and engage with the resulting problems and issues as well as participate in the discovery of a new star, Jessica Chastain, as "Salome". He also takes on the quest of trying to understand this great writer's need to express something so utterly different than anything he had ever written before. And on top of it all, to make a movie of the entire event and put on film an unusual, revealing and avant-garde journey into the light and heart of Oscar Wilde's great master work Salome.

Salomé (2013)
The Biblical story of Salome, a girl who agrees to perform the 'dance of the seven veils' in return for John the Baptist's head on a silver platter.
Wilde Salomé (2011)
Pacino takes us on a journey as he unravels and re-interprets Oscar Wilde's once banned and most controversial work SALOME, a scintillating tale of lust, greed and one woman's scorn. Pacino uses an uncanny mix of documentary, fiction and improvisation to get to the root of SALOMAYBE? SALOMAYBE? promises to be a profound vision of religion, politics, violence and sexuality from one of the greatest artists of our time.

A double disc package of Salomé, Oscar Wilde's most controversial work, banned in London in the late 19th Century. This scintillating tale of lust, greed and revenge follows the legend of King Herod and his lust for his young stepdaughter, Salomé, and her sexual baiting of John the Baptist. Wilde's adaptation has spawned multiple stage productions including an opera by Richard Strauss, and influenced work by musicians including Nick Cave and U2. Starring Pacino as King Herod and Jessica Chastain as Salomé in her first on screen role. Wilde Salomé follows Pacino's journey to Europe to understand more about Oscar Wilde.. It is a profound vision that explores religion, literature, politics, violence and sexuality from one of the world's greatest actors.
