Synopsis:

Andrzej Wajda directs this biopic about Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa (Robert Wieckiewicz). A shipyard worker turned human rights activist, Walesa longed for the day when he and everyone else in Poland could stand up to the oppressive communist regime. Walesa eventually made it happen, co-founding the Soviet's first trade union, Solidarity. The film also stars Agnieszka Grochowska as Danuta Walesa and Zbigniew Zamachowski as Nawislak.

The depiction of the life of Nobel Peace Prize winner and founder of Poland's Solidarity movement, Lech Walesa, as events in the 1970s lead to a peaceful revolution.
