Synopsis:
Based on the books by best-selling author Henning Mankell, with 'The Troubled Man' being adapted from the novel of the same-name, Krister Henriksson is back as Kurt Wallander for one final series. An investigation with ties to the Cold War involving his own relatives in The Troubled Man' and a case of a missing eight year old who disappears on her way to school in 'Missing' where we see Kurt back from a work suspension and keen to get back to normality. Kurt may be back in familiar territory but his close colleague, Martinsson, starts to notice that Kurt is forgetting what he is doing more and more, while his daughter Linda seems to be in denial about his declining health. As Kurt begins to accept that he has a problem, finally seeking the advice of his doctor, he attempts to hide his frightening diagnosis from his friends and relatives and carry on as best he can with the cases at hand. The Troubled Man (2013)
Wallander forgets his gun in a bar and is suspended. With time on his hands, he looks into the disappearance of his daughter's father-in-law who may have been involved in the death of a young sailor during an international incident back in the '80's with a submarine entering Swedish waters.
Missing (2013)
When a teenage girl is found dismembered, Wallander has to investigate the milieu of human trafficking. However, because of his memory loss, he is not in charge; Martinsson is, and the two do not agree on who the culprit is.
The Betrayal (2013)
A young student reports her mother missing. The next day, the mother's body is found buried in the sand close to the family's house.
The Loss (2013)
A girl disappears on her way to school, and suspicion falls on her father who has been fighting for her custody. Wallander's investigation is helped when he visits a woman whom he had arrested when her own daughter disappeared.
The Arsonist (2013)
When an arsonist is released from prison, the villagers do not want him anywhere near them. Soon they take matters in their hands and Wallander has to investigate whether their fear is justified.
The Sad Bird (2013)
When a restauranteur is abducted, Wallander's investigation leads him to suspect the Malmö police might be involved.
