Synopsis:

Emily Lilly is the dutiful wife of Theodore "Ted" Lilly, an East Pennsylvania preacher to a close-knit small town congregation and a modest radio audience. Although outwardly demur, Emily is the quiet driving force behind her husbands growing influence both at home and in the wider broadcast community. Emily's dedication to the man whose faith saved her from a life of regret is unyielding, but as their joint quest to bring their message to millions through a pending national television deal is about to happen, she realizes her husband no longer treats her the way he used to. During a church social even Ted introduces Luke, a young man in need of work and a place to stay. Unwilling to contradict her husbands generosity in front of the parishioners, Emily agrees, but when she raises her concerns about a stranger in the house privately with Ted, she is rebuffed - something her husband would never ordinarily do. Over the next few weeks Emily's dismay over Ted's increasing estrangement is compounded by her growing attraction for the handsome, charismatic drifter...

Emily is forced to confront the horrible secret she's hidden for years and free herself from the guild and deception that offered her solace.
