Synopsis:
This western saga is based on the book by cowboy Frank Harris. It tells the tale of a Chicago hotel clerk who dreams of becoming a cowboy and moving west. He believes he finally finds his opportunity when a cattle rancher comes to Chicago on business. The clerk follows him everywhere. Try as he might, the rancher cannot get rid of the eager young man who even follows him on a cattle drive out West. En route to his ranch, the cowman stops in Mexico. There the hotel clerk falls in love with an aristocratic Mexican maiden. In time, the clerk loses his city slicker ways and becomes an excellent trail boss. The film is set just at the end of the cowboys' heyday. In one scene, a gunslinger, no longer having anyone to fight, shoots himself.

Chicago hotel clerk Frank Harris dreams of life as a cowboy, and he gets his chance when, jilted by the father of the woman he loves, he joins Tom Reece and his cattle-driving outfit. Soon, though, the tenderfoot finds out life on the range is neither what he expected nor what he's been looking for...
