Synopsis:
Join Les Hiddins for 8 classic episodes from his popular ABC TV series Bush Tucker Man. Travelling throughout the Top End, the Bush Tucker Man collects information on how to survive on foods sourced only from the natural environment, demonstrating how even in remote deserts and on sandy beaches, fresh food and water can be found if you know where to look for it. From Arnhem Land to the Kimberley Ranges In the first four episodes of the series, the Bush Tucker Man takes us into the heart of Arnhem Land where the Aborigines of Ngukurr reveal their bush tucker secrets. From there he moves to the northwest of the Northern Territory during the wet season, through some of the most arid desert country in Australia to the heart of the spectacular Kimberley region. From the Rainforests to Cape York In these four episodes, Les travels through the most northern rainforest in Australia at Iron Range, the northern Queensland coastline and the Gulf Country, through to the west coast of Cape York where the first known sighting of Australia took place by Europeans. Warning: Viewers should exercise caution when watching this DVD as it may contain images of deceased persons. Collection contains: 8 Classic Stories of Survival (Episodes 1-8); Series 1: From Arnhem Land to the Kimberley Ranges (Episodes 1-4), From the Rainforests to Cape York (Episodes 5-8); Series 2 (Episodes 1-7).

Bush Tucker Man - The Collection, brings together all of the Bush Tucker Man stories ever filmed. Major Les Hiddins (aka The Bush Tucker Man) became a household name in the 1990s when his television show hit Australian screens. In a battered army truck, Hiddins sought out and recorded the different types of bush food and medicines used by Aboriginal people for thousands of years. Having been a bush survival expert for the Australian Army, Hiddins travelled vast tracts of uninhabited Australia from Cape York to the Kimberley, taking viewers on an entertaining and informative journey across rugged and inhospitable terrain. Revisit the television show that inspired the imagination and became a treasured part of Australian culture with the laconic and likeable Bush Tucker Man. Includes all episodes from Series 1 and 2 and all episodes from the 'Stories of Survival' series. WARNING: Aboriginal viewers should exercise caution when viewing these DVDs as they may contain images of deceased persons.
