Synopsis:

Is a documentary based on video archives shots by Ramuntcho Matta of his father from the 1986 to 2000. Dozens of tapes of his father working, talking, walking and even sleeping, notebooks, letters, postcards and gifts; The diversity of sources and formats and voice records are undoubtedly a crucial contribution to the richness and appeal of this film revealing the secrets between a father and a son, when he first arrives in Europe, his life in Spain and France, the constant link with the architecture, his relationships with personalities of 20th century's art (Le Corbusier, Duchamp, Breton, etc.), the surrealist movement, his works, evolution of his painting, the birth of Abstract Expressionism, his political commitment, etc. 'INTIMATTA' crosses from 'Artist Matta' to 'Intimate Matta'.

Intimatta is a cinematographic object, typical form Matta's sphere, belonging to his world and nothing else. It's a film about Roberto Matta, based on video recordings made by his son Ramuntcho, director of this project, and about interviews to contemporaries who knew Matta very well. Thanks to dozens of tapes with Matta painting, talking, walking and even sleeping; recorded between 1986 and 2000, through his working notebooks, letters, postcards and the gifts he send to family and friends, Intimatta shows us a way of thinking and immerses us into the artist's creative and intimate world.
