Synopsis:
Alsemberg, Belgium, 1975. Eight year-old Sarah, an orphan in a Catholic institution, receives a visit from her biological father. He claims he's treating her to a weekend in Paris, but ends up drugging and kidnapping her to a small village in the far reaches of Morocco. The treacherous father soon abandons the family and Sarah is left pining away for civilization - there's no schooling available other than learning the loom. Flash forward nine years to 17 year-old Sarah (Hafsia Herzi, LA FRANÇAISE, CINEMANIA 2009), now a local adolescent, or almost... It's 1984, at the time of the infamous Hunger Strike in Morocco. Sarah's household is always short of money and adequate food is a rarity. Understandably, Sarah dreams of the lost life of freedom she would have enjoyed at school in Belgium, amongst her beloved books. And then there's Nari (Mehdi Dehbi, presenter at CINEMANIA 2009), a handsome and politically-engaged young student, whose presence creates turmoil in Sarah's world.

In December of 1975, Sarah, an 8-year-old girl, is taken to Morocco by her father and abandoned. Nine years later, Sarah (Hafsia Herzi) lives in the middle of a hunger revolt and searches for a way to earn her board.
