Synopsis:
A BBC programme from its series 'Great Characters in Opera', produced by Patricia Foy and broadcast in 1966. Subtitles in Italian and English. Tito Gobbi interprets and remembers the role of Michele, with Charles Craig as Luigi, John Lanigan as Il 'Tinca', and the New Symphony Orchestra conducted by Edward Downes. The DVD additionally has the bonus of Tito Gobbi in 'Nulla ... silenzio ...' from a 1963 recital recorded by RAI Italian Television.

Il tabarro is an opera in one act by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Giuseppe Adami, based on Didier Gold's play La houppelande. It is the first of the trio of operas known as Il trittico.
