Synopsis:
***ATTENTION***Dari audio with English subtitles***Documentary following an Afghan National Army unit throughout one year as they battle the Taliban in Helmand without NATO support, which has recently been withdrawn. Directors Saeed Taji Farouky and Michael McEvoy capture the 3rd Brigade of the Heavy Weapons Company in action, providing an up-close look at the reality of war from the perspective of the Afghan men who risk their lives every day.

Tell Spring Not to Come This Year follows one unit of the Afghan National Army (ANA) over the course of their first year of deployment in Helmand without NATO support. It is an intimate film about the human side of combat, told from a largely unheard and misrepresented perspective, that explores the deep personal motivations, desires and struggles of a band of fighting men on the front line. Without a NATO soldier in sight, and no narrative but their own, this is the war in Afghanistan, through the eyes of the Afghans who live it.

The war in Afghanistan, through the eyes of the Afghans who live it.
