Synopsis:
British crime genre today is much broader than the detectives of yore. Hence 'Best of BBC Crime: a new collector series with still a number of top titles from the wealthy British crime kitchen. In this first collection, we see how Inspector Luther puzzled state after the murder of the parents of the genius Alice. An episode of Accused tells the story of a hardworking plumber who terribly got into trouble. In the pilot episode of the series Murphy's Law we meet Tommy Murphy, infiltrating undercover agent in the London underworld. In the first episode of Edge of Darkness, the daughter of policeman Ronald Craven is shot dead before his eyes in the street. And an episode of New Tricks revolves around the murder of a librarian who was a member of a coven.

The mysterious murder of an environmental activist leads her straight-laced father, an Inspector of the local police force, through a haunting revelation of the murkiness of the British Nuclear Policy of the eighties.
New Tricks (Wicca Work)
Three retired police officers are drafted in to solve cold cases, with a touch of comedy and drama.
Murphy's Law (2003)
As a maverick cop with a dark past, DS Tommy Murphy fails a psychiatric assessment but is given one last chance by his boss and given a dangerous undercover assignment.
