Synopsis:

***ATTENTION***Faroese audio with English, Danish, Italian, Polish & Russian subtitles***Ludo is an intense psychological drama about an 11-year-old girl (Lea Blaaberg) caught between her mother's (Hildigunn Eyðfinsdóttir) dark and unstable mind and her father's (Hjálmar Dam) well-meaning passivity. On the surface, the family appears to be happy and close-knit, living a comfortable life in their beautiful village in the Faroe Islands. However there is more than meets the eye inside their home as sinister tensions lurk in their midst. In a slow-paced, melodramatic, and highly expressionistic style, the film takes audiences into the center of the family's claustrophobic universe. A non-mainstream film that doesn't try to please anyone. Ludo is the first feature film from the Faroe Islands since 1999.

LUDO is an intense psychological drama about an 11-year-old girl caught between her mother's dark and unstable mind and her father's well-meaning passiveness. But what's it like to be shut in with mental illness? In a slow-paced, hypnotic and yet highly expressionistic style, the film takes the audience on a psychological journey into the center of the claustrophobic and unpleasant universe of the family.
