Synopsis:
One day Nadir, who lives in Amsterdam, is given the job by his father of transporting an old taxi from Amsterdam to the Moroccan capital of Rabat. His best friends Abdel and Zakaria, who live in the neighbourhood, accompany him on the long journey through France and Spain. While still in Holland, they pick up a hitch-hiker who is going to a party in Barcelona, and who spontaneously invites the three lads to go with her. Julie is studying art history, and doesn't really know what sort of career she will embark on. In Barcelona, Nadir, Abdel and Zakaria get to know a few music clubs and Nadir talks with Julie about their favourite pictures, music and films. Continuing on their journey, they get to meet all sorts of people - including the Spanish police, What starts off as a fun trip and sightseeing tour with easygoing discussions is transformed more and more into an adventure for the three of them. Tensions among them also rise. And then something else is revealed: Nadir has kept the real reason for the journey a secret from his friends. Only much later do they all realise that actually the journey was the destination.

A multi-cultural journey through five countries, in which five different languages are spoken. Victor Ponten and Jim Taihuttu, the two directors and founders of the Dutch hip-hop group 'Habbekrats', wanted to make a film of a different kind than their music videos that have won many awards. They made the short film 'Wolken#2' and then later with the same actors made their debut feature, 'Rabat'. The film was shot successively 'on the road' and in part was developed from scene to scene only during the journey. The result: an entertaining and exciting 'road movie' about friendship, family solidarity and the difficulties of growing up.
