Synopsis:
Rich, titled and beautiful, young Lady Chatterley (Sylvia Kristel) is increasingly restless and frustrated by her passionless marriage to Sir Clifford (Shane Briant). Increasingly attracted to the handsome Mellors (Nicholas Clay), her husband's gamekeeper, she is soon seeking physical and emotional satisfaction in a passionate affair, oblivious to the social scandal they are creating. Based on one of the most famous and scandalous books ever written, D.H. Lawrence's classic love story was banned for over 30 years when first published. Here, the controversial literary classic is beautifully realised as a voluptuous cinema experience from director Just Jaeckin, who also directed Kristel in Emmanuelle.

The once-notorious D. H. Lawrence novel Lady Chatterly's Lover seemed like kid stuff by the time this 1981 adaptation hit the screens. To pep up Lawrence's tale of an aristocratic woman who conducts an affair with her earthy gamekeeper, soft-core specialist Just Jaeckin attempted to convert the material into Emmanuelle Goes to England. To this end, Jaeckin utilized the undraped talents of his Emmanuelle star Sylvia Kristel, who behaves more like a saloon hall gal than the mistress of an 18th-century manor. Lady Sylvia--er, Lady Chatterly--can't get no satisfaction from her paralyzed spouse, so she dallies with low-born Nicholas Clay. As in most other Just Jaeckin films, the production values and photography are exquisite.

She was beautiful and sensual, trapped in a loveless marriage. He was her husband's servant. Born into worlds as far apart, they found a passionate world of their own.
