Synopsis:
This dull House of Wax variant involves a claw-handed escaped maniac (Patrick O'Neal), who rampages through late 19th-century Baltimore on a mission of vengeance. Hot on his trail are the proprietors of a 'House of Horrors' wax museum and their Mexican dwarf sidekick Tun-Tun. Initially conceived as a TV movie, this tepid horror-thriller was instead spiced up with additional gore and violence for theatrical release.

Pilot for a TV series based on House of Wax and intended to feature Danova and Hyde-White as owners of a wax museum who dabble in criminology. Judged too gruesome for TV (O'Neal, as the Baltimore Strangler, hacks off his own manacled hand in escaping from the police, later ends up impaled on a hook), it was expanded into a feature, with a Fear Flasher and Horror Horn as silly gimmicks. Tacky stuff, but it has its luridly bizarre moments and a nice performance from O'Neal as the seemingly indestructible homicidal maniac.

A one-handed madman (he lost the hand while escaping a hanging) uses various detachable devices as murder weapons to gain revenge on those he believes have wronged him.
