Synopsis:

A food revolution has hit Scandinavia! This time on Destination Flavour, Adam Liaw heads far north to investigate. In what is possibly the cleanest, healthiest, and happiest part of the world, Adam immerses himself in Scandinavian / Nordic culture, history and cuisine to explore the notion of The New Nordic food revolution, and the effect it has had on the region and possibly our future. Scandinavia is the hottest place in the food world at the moment. Rene Redzepi's Noma in Denmark, has claimed the crown of World's Best Restaurant for 4 years out the past 5, and dozens of Michelin stars at restaurants like Faviken in Sweden dot the entire region. Right now, it is THE must-visit destination for food lovers. Presenter, Adam Liaw believes that Scandinavian food is the Western equivalent of what Japanese food is to Asia delicate, refined and artistic. Destination Flavour Scandinavia explores the traditional foods of the region as well examining its journey to become what is the most dominant creative influence in food today. Across 6 episodes viewers will be treated to the spectacular landscapes and culinary delights of Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Adam meets a parade of famous chefs, cooks and providores and cooks classic Scandinavian dishes, learn traditional cooking methods but also providing his own spin on the central themes found throughout Scandinavian food.
