Synopsis:
Bumping Into Broadway: She's a chorus girl in unpaid tryouts for a Broadway show, behind in her rent, about to be evicted. He's in the room next door, from Peoria, struggling to write his first comedy; he's also behind in his rent. He gives her his last dollar so she can square with 'Bearcat,' the landlady, then he has to avoid Bearcat and her bouncer... Billy Blazes, Esq.: In the Old West, there is general lawlessness in the Prairie mining town of Peaceful Vale in Rattlefire County due to the ineffectiveness of Sheriff 'Gun Shy' Gallagher... Number, Please?: Harold is spending the day at the amusement park, unfulfilled and alone. He thinks his day has the possibility of looking up when he spots Mildred, the girl of his dreams, on a date at the park with Roy... High and Dizzy: Dr. Hale, fresh out of medical school and having opened his own practice with no patients, is trying to impress a father and his daughter, the latter potentially to be his first patient. But Dr. Hale becomes more enamored with her as a potential girlfriend, especially when her father chooses not to have her treated by him... Haunted Spooks: After numerous failed attempts to commit suicide, our hero (Lloyd) runs into a lawyer who is looking for a stooge to stand in as a groom in order to secure an inheritance for his client (Davis). The inheritance is a house, which her scheming uncle 'haunts' so that he can scare them off and claim the property. Get Out and Get Under: Through all the trials and tribulations a boy is having in getting a photograph taken to give to the girl he loves and wants to marry, the boy learns from the photographer that the girl is already scheduled to marry someone else that afternoon, the wedding which the boy is too late to stop... Now or Never: Mary is a nanny to an infant girl named Dolly, neglected by her parents in their own self-absorbed lives. Mary is scheduled to go on vacation, she going home to meet her childhood sweetheart, his childhood promise to her to meet her on her eighteenth birthday, which is upcoming. However, feeling Dolly will be all alone, Mary decides to take Dolly with her, Mary not having asked her parents' permission in their neglect... Never Weaken: Our hero (Lloyd) is infatuated with a girl in the next office. In order to drum up business for her boss, an osteopath, he gets an actor friend to pretend injuries that the doctor 'cures', thereby building a reputation. When he hears that his girl is marrying another, he decides to commit suicide and spends the bulk of the film in thrilling, failed attempts. A Sailor-Made Man: When The Girl's father insists that, before he will agree to The Boy's marrying his daughter, he must first prove that he can do something more worthwhile than act the playboy. He joins the navy. When his ship docks at a Middle Eastern kingdom, The Girl and her father also arrive by yacht. The local maharajah kidnaps The Girl and it is up to The Boy to rescue her. From Hand to Mouth: Harold is starving since he has no money to buy food. He may even fight a young starving girl and her starving dog for a morsel. Their unwitting attempts at getting money for food may get them into trouble. But they are helped by a young woman, Mildred. Harold doesn't want to disappoint her, which may be the case when they meet again... Dr. Jack: Country Doctor, Jack Jackson is called in to treat the Sick-Little-Well-Girl, who has been making Dr. Saulsbourg and is sanitarium very rich, after years of unsuccessful treatment. His old-fashioned methods do the trick and the quack is sent packing.
