Synopsis:
Coogan's Bluff: Clint Eastwood is Arizona deputy Walt Coogan, sent to New York city to escort a prisoner home. But the prisoner is not ready to be transferred back to Arizona and so Coogan cuts a few corners. However, this helps the prisoner escape and, after Coogan clashes with the Sherrif McElroy (Lee J. Cobb), he is ordered back to Arizona. But Coogan does not want to give up his pursuit of the prisoner and takes the matter into his own hands. Two Mules for Sister Sara: Old Mexico, occupied by the French, is a magnet for American mercenaries, looking to make a fast buck in the lawless country. One such gold-digger (Clint Eastwood) shows his fundamentally noble nature by saving a 'nun' (Shirley Maclaine) from being raped. She turns out in fact to be a prostitute, and the odd couple team up, facing continual confrontation with the French forces. The Beguiled: Clint Eastwood and Geraldine Page star in this tense psychological drama of love and betrayal. During the Civil War a wounded Union soldier is sheltered by the headmistress and students of a girls' academy in the South. As his health returns his desire increases, but can he trust these enemy women not to turn him in? He takes his chances but soon realises that his benefactress can't be trusted...with his love or with his life! His lustful ambition turns quickly against him and the story follows him through a series of nerve-shattering events, including realistic scenes that are among the boldest, most shocking ever witnessed on film. Directed by Don Siegel, with a sultry score by Lalo Schifrin, this bittersweet thriller of hidden passions is set in one of America's romantic eras. Play Misty for Me: Clint Eastwood made his directorial debut with this contemporary thriller about psychotic obsession. Eastwood also takes the lead in the starring role as Dave Garver, a popular radio disc jockey who repeatedly receives on-air phone requests from a sexy female fan to 'play Misty for me'. When the woman, Evelyn Draper (Jessica Walter), orchestrates a rendezvous with Dave at his favourite nightspot, the two begin a torrid affair. But when Dave decides to end the relationship, Evelyn's obsession turns to violence. Soon everything and everyone in Dave's life becomes a target for Evelyn's increasingly deadly campaign of terror. Beautifully photographed on location in Eastwood's hometown of Carmel, California, Play Misty for Me continues to be considered one of the great modern-day thrillers. Joe Kidd: Clint Eastwood plays a drunken tracker coerced by American business tycoon Robert Duvall to go in search of Mexican agitator John Saxon. Scripted by renowned crime writer Elmore Leonard. High Plains Drifter: Classic Clint Eastwood western. The unwelcome arrival of a stranger (Eastwood) in the town of Lagos causes resentment and fear among the locals. However, when they come under threat from a band of escaped convicts, it is to the stranger that the townsfolk turn for salvation. He agrees to help, and sets about teaching the populace the arts of self defence. Breezy: Clint Eastwood directs William Holden and Kay Lenz as a mismatched pair who eventually find common ground. Successful businessman Frank Harmon (William Holden), disillusioned after a bitter divorce, thinks he can shut out the pain by isolating himself at his beach house. But when free-spirited Breezy (Kay Lenz) appears on his doorstep, Frank is unable to turn her away. The Eiger Sanction: College lecturer Jonathan Hemlock (Clint Eastwood) tops up his university paypacket by carrying out the occasional assassination. His latest assignment involves joining a climbing expedition up the Eiger, identifying the Russian killer amongst the group, and then neutralising his threat. Directed by Eastwood himself and co-starring George Kennedy and Vonetta McGee.
