Synopsis:

Jacques de Saint Phalle (1917-2010) was part of the Normandie-Niemen fighter group, the only air unit of Free France engaged on the Eastern Front alongside the Soviets from 1942; the most successful fighter group in the entire history of French aviation. The former pilot confides in the director with humility. He recounts his combat experience, his passion for aviation, the revelation of a vocation put to the test of war. Through this portrait, this film pays tribute to the pilots and mechanics as well as to the spirit of the Normandie-Niémen, a mythical squadron and symbol of Franco-Russian friendship.
