Synopsis:
Basque Country, 778 AD: the menace of Muslim Empire forces Eneko, a feudal lord, renounces to his Catholic faith to make a deal with a powerful Pagan entity known as Mari, to expel the invaders and guarantee the victory; his life in exchange to kill his enemies. His young child, named also Eneko, not only loses his father in the battle, but he meets a strange little girl named Irati in a river where previously watched something impossible: a lamia (a magical woman with red eyes and lizard feet) seducing a soldier to take him underwater. His grandfather, fearing by his grandson, sends him from there to sure he grow strong and powerful. 15 years outside his home, Eneko returns as a faithful Catholic, hoping to rule his lands as his father and grandfather did. However, other feudal families and an uncomfortable alliance between Eneko's mother Oneka with Muslims in the zone forces the young aspiring to feudal lord to make a deal with the heir of Belasko family: prove that he is worthy to rule finding and recovering his father's corpse, which was lost in the battle. To find the corpse, Eneko is forced to travel with Irati, turned in a young girl raised in the forest by aging Luxa, worshiping the ancient Pagan traditions and despising the Catholic faith and Christianity. Belasko, who wants kill Eneko to be the new ruler, sends some henchmen to the forest to locate them and kill them. But while they are in the forest, Irati introduces Eneko in a world 'where everything that has a name exists', a place full of magic and fantasy creatures that he rejects after his faith. But when they two are attacked, Irati is exposed with a dark secret involving a decaying world that try survive despite the Christianity that it spreads around the continent that it threatens to exterminate. Finding that old myths are reality, Eneko starts an adventure to discover not only the true heart of the forest, but find the way to turn in the man that must be.
