Synopsis:
***WARNING: Alphaville and Band of Outsiders do NOT HAVE ENGLISH language options*** Breathless: A small-time crook, hunted by the authorities for a car theft and the murder of a police officer, attempts to persuade a hip American journalism student to run away with him to Italy. Alphaville: A U.S. secret agent is sent to the distant space city of Alphaville where he must find a missing person and free the city from its tyrannical ruler. Band of Outsiders: Two crooks with a fondness for old Hollywood B-movies convince a languages student to help them commit a robbery. Contempt: A French writer's marriage deteriorates while working on Fritz Lang's version of "The Odyssey", as his wife accuses him of using her to court favor with the film's brash American producer. Pierrot the Fool: Pierrot escapes his boring society and travels from Paris to the Mediterranean Sea with Marianne, a girl chased by hit-men from Algeria. They lead an unorthodox life, always on the run.

One could argue that hardly any other European filmmaker influenced Hollywood conventions as much as Jean-Luc Godard. This Blu-ray edition brings together five of his most important films from the 1960s.
