Synopsis:

At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul: Driven by the overwhelming desire to have a son to continue his bloodline, blasphemous Zé do Caixão, the wicked undertaker of a tight-knit, God-fearing Brazilian village, sets his mind on finding the perfect woman to bear his child. And having grown tired of his infertile wife Lenita, the despicable mortician sets his sights on impregnating his best friend Antonio's girlfriend Terezinha, and no one can stand in his way. But as innocents die left and right, judgement comes upon Zé on the Day of the Dead in the shape of a local fortune-teller, and nothing can stop revenge--not even the cold, dark grave. This Night I'll Possess Your Corpse: Coffin Joe is still looking for the perfect woman to give birth to a son of his, and, cleared of the past crimes in the first film (At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul), keeps terrorizing the people in his small town with his iconoclast and sadistic practices. The Strange World of Coffin Joe: 'O Estranho Mundo de Zé do Caixão' is a collection of three creepy and bizarre horror tales. 'O Fabricante de Bonecas' ('The Dollmaker'): In Pirituba, Master Bastos is a respectable doll maker that lives with his four daughters in a remote area manufacturing dolls with impressive eyes. When four criminals break in his house to rob his money and rape his daughters, they learn why the doll's eyes are so realistic. 'Tara' ('Perversion'): A poor balloon seller has a crush on a young woman and stalks her. On her wedding day, the woman is stabbed in front of the church by another woman and dies. After her funeral, the man breaks in her crypt and spends the night with her to satisfy his obsession. 'Ideologia' ('Ideology'): After a debate on a TV show with the journalist Alfredo about the nonexistence of love, Professor Oaxiac Odez invites Alfredo and his wife Wilma to visit him. Professor Odez offers to prove to Alfredo that the instinct prevails over reason, and brings the couple to the dungeon of his house. They witness the results of the sinister experiment of Professor Odez with people that did not believe on his theory and after a period subjected to subhuman conditions, have become monstrous animals. Now Alfredo and Wilma are imprisoned and submitted to starvation and all sort of psychological torture to prove that the love is dead. The Awakening of the Beast: During a debate of journalists with the renowned psychiatrist Dr. Sérgio and José Mojica Marins a.k.a. Zé do Caixão, Sr. Sérgio presents several cases of kinky sex and orgy associated to the use of drugs. The journalists defend that the cases are related to perverts and criminals, but Dr. Sérgio blames the influence of drugs for the violence. Then Dr. Sérgio invites four persons from different classes to use LSD and analyze the effect of Zé do Caixão's films in their twisted minds to prove his theory. The End of Man: Stark naked man comes out from the sea and begins to walk the streets, interfering in daily episodes, always in search of justice. He names himself Finis Hominis (The End of Man, in latin), and soon becomes sort of a modern Messiah, capable of performing miracles. An adulterous woman and a cheated husband are among his most faithful followers, as well as a group of hippies. When the Gods Fall Asleep: Finis Hominis returns, an escaped mental patient, as he sets out cause corruption and to right the world's social unrest he discovers through the news. The Strange Hostel of Naked Pleasures: The events of several travelers who stop at a sinister hostel one stormy night. Hellish Flesh: Dr. Medeiros is a brilliant scientist who doesn't have time for beautiful wife Raquel so she falls for Oliver, best friend of her husband, and soon they plot to kill George and inherit his fortune. Raquel throws acid on George's face, disfiguring it. As he recovers in the hospital, Raquel and Oliver spend all his money. After months in care Dr. George comes home with a plan for revenge. Hallucinations of a Deranged Mind: This movie is basically a vehicle for recycling footage from the eccentric pantheon of Brazil's premier horror filmmaker Jose Mojica Marins, whose own persona often melds with that of his popular alter-ego 'Coffin Joe'. Clips are culled from the trademark surreal nightmare sequences favored by Marins in such films as Esta Noite Encarnarei No Teu Cadaver (Tonight I'll Be Incarnated in Your Corpse), Ritual dos Sadicos (Ritual of the Maniacs) and Exorcismo Negro (Black Exorcism). These grotesque, hallucinatory set pieces are depicted as the nightmares plaguing psychologist Dr. Hamilton, who is haunted by the character of Coffin Joe. In an effort to stop the dreams, Hamilton seeks the aid of Joe's creator (Marins, as himself), who tries to convince him that Joe is not an actual demon but a flamboyant character he intends to lampoon in his latest film. Embodiment of Evil: After forty years in prison, the evil gravedigger Josefel Zanatas a.k.a. Zé do Caixão is released by the lawyer Lucy Pontes in accordance with Brazilian Laws. He moves to the slums with his followers that worship him, and he seeks out the perfect woman to bear his children while haunted by the ghosts of his victims. The vigilante brothers Captain Osvaldo Pontes and his brother Coronel Claudiomiro from the Military Police chase Zé do Caixão in the slums to kill him and they find a track of tortured and mutilated bodies.
