Synopsis:
Commandos Strike at Dawn: Erik Toresen, widower and fishery observer, leads a quiet life in a small Norwegian town; but after the German occupation, German abuses lead Erik to form a Resistance group. After a killing, Erik flees to the wilderness and finds a secret German air base; he resolves to escape to England with its location. The Hitler Gang: The film depicts the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi movement from a small radical political adventurer and cell to the dictatorial regime of Germany in the genre of a gangster film. Night Has a Thousand Eyes: After heiress Jean Courtland attempts suicide, her fiancé Elliott Carson probes her relationship to John Triton. In flashback, we see how stage mentalist Triton starts having terrifying flashes of true precognition. His partner, Whitney Courtland, uses Triton's talent to make money; but Triton's inability to prevent what he foresees, causes him to break up the act and become a hermit. Years later, Triton has new visions and desperately tries to prevent tragedies in the Courtland family. Can his warnings succeed against suspicion, unbelief, and inexorable fate? Submarine Command: Submarine commander Ken White is forced to suddenly submerge, leaving his captain and another crew member to die outside the sub during WW II. Subsequent years of meaningless navy ground assignments and the animosity of a former sailor, leave White (now a captain) feeling guilty and empty. His life spirals downward and his wife is about to leave him. Suddenly, he is forced into a dangerous rescue situation at the start of the Koren War.... reassigned to the same submarine where all of his problems began. Botany Bay: In 1787 prisoners from London's Newgate Gaol are to be shipped to New South Wales. Hugh Tallant is an American medical student whom, we learn at sea, was falsely imprisoned. Because of his attempt to escape, evil Captain Gilbert decides to return him to England on charges of mutiny. Events, including arrival of plague, keep Tallant busy in New South Wales. John Farrow Hollywood's Man in the Shadows: John Farrow - Hollywood's Man in the Shadows is the first documentary ever made about one of Hollywood's most prolific yet forgotten filmmakers John Villiers Farrow. Part mystery, part biography, part film noir - the documentary follows the stranger than fiction story of this Australian born, Oscar-winning filmmaker. As one of Hollywood's most enigmatic figures - Farrow was the director of some 50 films; a sailor, a poet, a war hero, best-selling author, a religious scholar, a family man and a philanderer - a man who lived many lives - yet who left behind no memoirs, no interviews and no archival footage - and who today is only a shadow in the pages of film history.
