Synopsis:
Fictitious Anacin Commercial: A commercial for Anacin. Sailing with Bushnell Keeler: In 1967, a young David Lynch grabbed his new Bolex 16mm camera, to film his friend and mentor Bushnell Keeler and brother Dave Keeler sailing on the Chesapeake Bay in Bush's King's Cruiser. This was David Lynch's very first film, which he prefers to call a 'home movie'. It depicts a man, a painter, who changed David's life forever pursuing the artist's life, which he continues to this day. Six Men Getting Sick: Against the backdrop of the hair-raising wail of the siren, and an animated painting, a then-sophomore in the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts David Lynch plays with the sense of disgust and the law of reflection. Using a sextet of disembodied, hand-drawn figures connected to their filled-with-gastric-fluids stomachs through six distinct oesophagi, Lynch uses red flashes, hungry flames, the laconic 'sick' caption, and even the X-ray of a belly, to portray an emetic one-minute sequence of regurgitation looped not once, but six times. Absurd Encounter with Fear: A man approaches a woman in a field. The Alphabet: A woman's dark and absurdist nightmare vision comprising a continuous recitation of the alphabet and bizarre living representations of each letter. The Grandmother: To escape neglect and abuse from his parents, a young boy plants some strange seeds and they grow into a grandmother. The Amputee: A double amputee attempts to write a letter while her nurse gets in the way. Premonitions Following an Evil Deed: A short film about the events following a murder. Eraserhead: First-time father Henry Spencer tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child. David Lynch: The Art Life: An intimate journey through the formative years of David Lynch's life. From his idyllic upbringing in small town America to the dark streets of Philadelphia, we follow Lynch as he traces the events that have helped to shape one of cinema's most enigmatic directors.
