Synopsis:
Susan Caldwell, une jeune chanteuse, vient juste d'être hospitalisée, victime d'une tentative de meurtre. La police soupçonne très vite Marian Washburn, elle-même ancienne chanteuse dont la carrière fût brisée quelques années auparavant. Cette dernière avait pris en main la carrière de Susan, dont le talent était limité, pour la transformer en étoile du music-hall...
