Synopsis:
Un des premiers films du Cinema Novo portugais, Belarmino présente, à travers le portrait de l'anvien champion de boxe Belarmino Fragoso, un portrait de la ville de Lisbonne et de l'immigration importante qu'elle connaît dans les années soixante. Le style de Fernando Lopes, des images sèches, des mots crus et un montage fort, font de ce film 'un coup de poing dans l'estomac'.
