Synopsis:
Sebastien et Viola, jumeaux que seul leur sexe distingue, sont séparés par un naufrage. Viola, rescapée, prend le nom de Cesario et entre comme page à la cour du duc Orsino, amoureux de la comtesse Olivia qui repousse son amour. Il se confie à Viola-Cesario et l'envoie interceder en sa faveur auprès de la comtesse, au grand tourment du page car Viola est amoureuse d'Orsino.
