The final masterpiece by the late nature and wildlife filmmaker, Hugo van Lawick, Serengeti Symphony captures the breathtaking beauty and unique wildlife of Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Sweeping the vast expanse of the Serengeti with his camera, the filmmaker pays tribute to the lions, jackals, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants and other wild animals that live there in their natural habitat. With a brief narration at the beginning and end, this compassionate portrait features a deceptively simple combination of images and music. In the film, wild animals eat, drink, play, fight and bathe in concert with each other, accompanied only by the sounds of the natural world and a musical score written by Laurens van Rooyen. Serengeti Symphony was created to make the world conscious of the necessity of preserving this wonderful nature reserve.

My Backyard, the Serengeti follows Hugo van Lawick and his team on the trail of a wildebeest herd migrating through the Serengeti National Park. Hugo has spent thirty years living in the Serengeti is truly his backyard. Van Lawick is prepared for most things, but remains amazed by the inhabitants of this vast National Park. Animal encounters happen when you least expect them, so Hugo knows that he and his crew must be patient.
