A documentary. Are they playing some kind of a role game? They are the female inmates of the Schwarzau penitentiary, they wear heavy blue and green make-up and they have thus hidden their faces in order to be able to play the heroes and heroines of an antique tragedy together with the young men from the juvenile delinquents' jail in Gerasdorf. The heavy make-up makes it easier for them to narrate their unadorned life stories and tell of the deeds which got them into jail, of credit card fraudery, breaking and entering, theft, hold-ups with toy pistols, but also of brutal families, false friends and, last not least, of that ruthless machine of greed and poison, drug addiction. Thus they bear witness to what it means to try and find your luck in life when all the signs along the way scream "Failure!" The little stories narrated in this film are great tragedies,of the kind which one is hard put to find in any other of today's Austrian films.
