Synopsis:
Au cours d'un raid, Scott tue l'homme qu'il tient pour responsable de la mort de son frère. Le mort était innocent, et Scott devient un fugitif de la justice. Quelques mois plus tard, il refait surface, comme le maréchal d'une ville du Kansas, dans lequel il met en déroute une bande de vicieux, avec l'aide d'un autre paria, Jesse James (Dale Robertson).
