Narrated by Nicole Kidman, the definitive portrait of Simon Wiesenthal, featuring interviews with long-time Wiesenthal associates, government leaders from around the world, friends and family members many of whom have never discussed the legendary Nazi hunter and humanitarian on camera. Wiesenthal, a Holocaust survivor, helped track down numerous Nazi war criminals following World War II and then spent the latter decades of his life fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all people. His life s quest began after the Americans liberated the Mauthausen death camp in Austria where Wiesenthal was a prisoner in May 1945. It was his fifth death camp among the dozen Nazi camps in which he was imprisoned, and he weighed just 99 pounds when he was freed. Wiesenthal said he quickly realised there is no freedom without justice, and decided to dedicate a few years to seeking justice. It became decades, he added. Filmed on locations throughout Europe, Israel, North and South America, not only to film interviews and accompanying material, but also to obtain new and previously unseen archival materials to tell the complete Wiesenthal Story.
