The aircraft carrier 'Kiev' was once the pride and symbol of the Soviet Navy. Decommissioned in 1994 the rusting ship began her final voyage to end her days as a tourists theme park in China. Holzhausen, who has tracked the story of the 'Kiev' for more than five years, presents the men who served aboard her since 1972 as the focal point of the film. With the fall of the Soviet Union these men have lost their places in society. The 'Kiev' has long since existed only in remembrance, a ghost ship which sails on through the dreams of her former crew.
