Famous for writing parenting guidebooks, Valentine appears to be the perfect mother and wife. Her world, however, comes crashing down around her when her husband Nicholas decides he wants a divorce and their children choose to live with him. Under pressure from her agent for her new book to be a bestseller, Valentine realises the balance in her life has been all wrong and she must learn to become a better mother.
