Synopsis:

The Airds family idyll is in danger: the young Laura still suffers greatly from the dramatic accidental death of their friend Guy and has completely withdrawn. Her brother Henry was urged by his equally ambitious and scheming brother Noel Keeling from the family business and is disappointed by his parents tasking Alexa with the catering company. Alexa in turn believes that Noel is cheating, but has no idea that her best friend Lucilla is her rival. Laura's mother Virginia decides to confess at last that her American friend Conrad Tucker is Laura's biological father. This endangers not only their previously happy marriage with Edmund, but also the extremely labile Laura. At the big ball in September, hosted by Balmerinos, there is a showdown.
