A small family that consisted of Jesus and his parents, Joseph and Mary. That is the image that has existed for centuries of the family of Jesus. But the reality is different. Jesus lived 2,000 years ago, at a time when families were by definition large and ramified. The role that Jesus' relatives played in spreading Christianity has never been much talked about outside of scholarly circles. Strange, because there is plenty of biblical, historical and archaeological evidence that Jesus had a huge family network that supported him from birth to death. This film paints a picture of the practical and moral benefits of a large family, from Joseph and Mary to Jesus' grandfather Joachim, his cousin John the Baptist and his brothers Simon, Judas, Joseph and James.
